Definitions for terms used throughout Beat The Queue and this guide.
Account
Your Beat The Queue account. An account contains one or more locations and the settings shared across them.
Auto-confirm
Automatically accepts an order and charges the customer without a staff acceptance step.
Auto-assign slot
Lets the ordering process choose a suitable slot for the customer.
Browser assignment
The locations and printer locations allocated to one web browser or device.
Collection screen
A separate public display showing order numbers being prepared and ready to collect.
Collection slot
A date and time when a customer can collect an order. Collection slots are managed on the Booking Slots screen.
Event QR URL / QR name
A permanent printed short link that can be redirected to a chosen location.
Lead time
An advisory estimate of how long an order will take to prepare.
Location
Anywhere you accept orders, such as a food truck, takeaway, café, home kitchen, pop-up, or market stall. A location can have its own menus, collection slots, stock, devices, integrations, and links.
Menu
What customers can order. A menu contains sections, items, options, availability, and location assignments.
Optimised slot
A time window that accepts multiple customers while its weighted capacity remains available.
Option Set
A reusable group of customer choices that can be attached to several items.
Order Now
Allows immediate collection orders without choosing a future slot.
Orders
Incoming customer orders. Each order is associated with the relevant location and contains the customer, collection, item, and payment details.
Print Link
The device or service that passes online print jobs to printers at a location.
Printer location
An internal routing destination such as Kitchen or Bar, separate from a customer ordering location.
Private location
A location hidden from normal customer browsing but still reachable through a direct link or QR code.
Slot weight
How much of a collection slot’s capacity an item uses.
Stock pool
A shared supply or capacity that controls the availability of all items linked to it.
Till Mode
A staff-operated basket and order flow within Live Orders.
